When you create an account or use Billie Society, we may collect the following:

• Account information — your chosen username, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash, never in plain text).
• User-uploaded content — photos, videos, fan edits, and other media you voluntarily submit.
• Usage data — pages visited, features used, and interactions with the site, collected to improve the experience.
• Technical data — browser type, device type, and general geographic region (country/region level only), used solely for service operation.

We collect only what is necessary to operate the site. We do not require real names, phone numbers, physical addresses, or payment information to use Billie Society.

We do not sell your data. Full stop.

Billie Society does not sell, rent, trade, broker, or otherwise transfer any personal information — including but not limited to names, email addresses, IP addresses, usage patterns, or any other identifying information — to any third party, advertiser, data broker, or commercial entity.

• We do not run targeted advertising platforms.
• We do not build advertising profiles from your activity.
• We do not share personal data with marketing partners.
• We do not disclose your information to third parties except where required by law or necessary to operate core infrastructure (e.g., database hosting, CDN).

Information collected is used exclusively to:

• Operate and maintain your account and the site's features.
• Authenticate your identity when you sign in.
• Display content you have uploaded to other community members (as you intend).
• Send transactional emails (e.g., password resets) — never marketing emails without your explicit consent.
• Diagnose technical issues and improve site performance.
• Enforce our Terms of Service, including removing prohibited content.

Billie Society uses minimal, functional cookies only — specifically session cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies, ad-network cookies, or cross-site tracking technologies.

Your account and associated data are retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time by contacting us. We will action deletion requests within 30 days.

Publicly uploaded content (photos, fan edits) may remain on the platform after account deletion unless you also request removal of that content.

To operate the site, we rely on infrastructure providers (such as hosting, CDN, and database services). These providers process data only as required to deliver the service and are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.

Billie Society may display news articles linking to third-party websites. We have no control over the privacy practices of external sites and encourage you to review their policies independently.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the site. Continued use of Billie Society after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
